COVID 19 pandemic is complicated, scary and has posed a lot of issues for business owners who seek to find the right balance between profits and social responsibility. For some businesses, it’s been a rude awakening they need to up their digital game. I stumbled a little in my photography business too, at first, but one thing you learn in the professional photography hustle is how to be agile. So, I’m bouncing back and you can too! Here’s how:
Why refresh your management strategy during COVID-19?
If your business lacks the agility of a digital enterprise, you need to evaluate your small business management strategy, first before you make decisions. You can start by examining how you are making decisions. A few digital enhancements can increase your visibility of how your company is performing on goals, cut down the time you spend working on projects and make you more accessible to your customers during a time when it’s important to interact with them digitally.
My photography business looks for opportunities to impress
In my photography business, Kristina Maness Photography, staying on top of trends and ways to get in front of customers is crucial. How can you build a client base if no one sees your work? That’s one reason why I’ve become more digital and its helped me through the ever-present COVID pandemic. Here’s how you can do the same, while remaining socially distant:
Reevaluate current brand marketing
If you were considering a re-branding before the pandemic, you’ve probably never had more time to plan it. If you’re staying home to avoid spreading germs, use some downtime to reevaluate your current brand and make any tweaks. It doesn’t have to be a full re-branding either. Small changes that help you better resonate with your audience, like how and where you share content, can be meaningful to the digital success of your business.
Have a plan
Before you dive into content marketing over social media, you should have a plan. In it’s very basic form a content plan for social media should include one or more buyer personas, where you will be sharing your posts to reach your target market and how many times a day you will share. More in depth plans include suggestion for content, links, content notes, file attachments with items to share, keywords and hashtags, specific post ideas, captions and competitor information.
Schedule posts
Once you have an idea of what you are sharing and where you can begin scheduling posts. I recommend Planoly for this process.
Get social
Now it’s time to start posting. Once you start releasing your scheduled posts, you should see engagement start to drum up. Responding to customer comments is always recommended as a step to building trust with your audience. Respond to both the good and the bad to drive engagement. Look for other avenues to get your brand on social media in front of your audience including partnerships and hashtags.
